Un peu en retard pour ce post Bergère de France car j'ai commencé mon nouveau boulot mercredi dernier (et non je n'avais pas anticipé sur les articles...) et entre le Secret Santa jeudi - déjeuner sur le port ponctué de cocktails puis bières et shots au bar d'en face (!) - on imagine bien que je n'ai rien fait ce soir là... et ma deadline pour Morris&Sons (j'ai d'ailleurs fait quelques folies là-bas, je vous montre bientôt ça), je n'ai pas été très productive.

I am a little late for this Bergère de France post because I started my new job last Wednesday (and no I hadn't planned the articles ahead...) and between the Secret Santa / Kris Kringle on Thursday at the Harbour drinking cocktails all afternoon - you can imagine I haven't done anything that night... and my Morris&Sons deadline (I have been a bit crazy there and I will show you soon) I haven't been the most productive.

J'ai passé une éternité à choisir le patron, et j'ai tricoté, détricoté au moins trois fois. Cette matière n'a d'ailleurs pas beaucoup apprécié, mais point positif n'a jamais cassé.

Le mélange est super fibreux donc poils partout, et je trouve le tricot un tantinet rêche, clairement pas super agréable sur la peau. En bonnet je pense que cela passe mais je ne réaliserai pas un pull avec cette laine.

I spent ages picking the pattern and I have knitted and unraveled at least three times. This yarn didn't take it very well actually but never broke.

The mix is very fibrous so "hair" everywhere, and I find the knitted piece a bit rough, clearly not nice on the skin. As a beanie it is all right but I wouldn't make a jumper out of this wool.

J'ai finalement opté pour un patron en français (fait suffisamment rare pour être souligné). J'en ai vu un certain nombre de semblables mais celui-ci se tricote à plat de manière très ingénieuse en un seul morceau - alors que les autres commencent par simplement faire une torsade, puis rabattage des mailles pour enfin relever de nouvelles mailles et tricoter en rond (ai-je déjà mentionné que je n'aime pas tricoter en rond?)

I eventually chose this pattern (both in French and English). I have seen other similar ones but I like that this one is knitted flat in a very smart way in one piece - while the others start by the cable bit, cast off, and pick up stitches out of this first bit and knit the rest in the round (have I ever mentioned that I dislike knitting in the round?)
