SYDNEY HERE I AM

Ces dernières semaines ont été assez intenses, mais je suis (presque) enfin installée, et les cours ont commencé!

J'ai seulement reçu il y a quelques jours mon matériel de tricot, que j'attendais avec IMPATIENCE (euphémisme), donc je vais recommencer à poster plus régulièrement d'ici peu.

Ci-dessus mon nouvel home sweet home, qui se trouve être très très humide (si vous avez des conseils pour limiter l'humidité et l'odeur qui va avec je suis d'ailleurs preneuse...) mais à 5 min de la fac pour John et à 20 min du centre en bus (qui passe toutes les 2 min).
These last weeks have been pretty intense but I am (almost) finally settled, and class have started.
I only received my knitting supplies a few days ago, I couldn't wait anymore!!!! So I'll be able to start posting more often again.
You can admire on the picture above my new home, which turned out to be very very humid (if you have any tips to help me with that and with the resulting smell you are welcome to share them...) but only 5 min away from the university for John and 20 min away from the center of the city by bus (which stops every 2 min).

et un chariot-mamie pour moi pour aller faire les courses : 30 min aller pour le Coles le plus proche, ça change de ne plus habiter en ville :(

and a granny-trolley for me to go shopping: closest Coles is 30 min walk, big change not to live in the city anymore :(

Je me suis inscrite à un envoi de paquet de nourriture sur Madmoizelle, je suis déjà en manque de French food... Donc petit tour à Woolworths pour me donner des idées pour le colis de la miss et j'ai fait quelques achats (non dévoilés ici ;). J'en ai également profité pour photographier quelques produits inhabituels en Europe :

I enrolled in a 'package sending' on Madmoizelle.com, I am already craving for some French food. So I went to Woolworths to have a look and get some ideas for the miss' parcel and I bought some things (undisclosed here ;). I also took snapshots of some unusual products in Europe: 

1. Du yaourt aux fruits de la passion (avec des morceaux !!!) délicieux^^

2. Des 'custard apples', jamais goûté...

2. Custard apples, never tried... I don't even know how I should eat it

3. Des nachi : un fruit chinois, mix entre une pomme et une poire, mais je trouve que c'est le mauvais côté des deux : croquant comme une pomme et goût plutôt fade

4. De la vegemite, que je trouve répugnante. Il s'agit d'une pâte à tartiner noire, à base de levures, qui a un goût plutôt salé. Je pense qu'il faut s'y habituer, John dit aimer mais il n'en met pas une couche trop épaisse sur sa tartine... - on peut apercevoir du Nutella qui devient international ;)
3. Naashi pears: it is a chinese fruit resulting from a mix between an apple and a pear, but in my opinion it took the bad side of both: crunchy like an apple and bland (not really tasty)
4. Vegemite, which I think is truly disgusting. It is a black spread, made out of yeast, which has a salty taste. I think you need to get used to it (probably to even grow up with it...) John says he likes it but honestly the layer can't be too thick if I want him to eat it :p


Je complèterai la liste à mon prochain passage au magasin ! Le rayon des bonbons/sucreries est notamment gigantesque... Pour l'heure je prépare des Anzac biscuits...
I will carry on this list when I'll go back to the store! The lollies aile is pretty gigantic... For now I am baking Anzac biscuits...
